Conveyancing and Real Estate Practice
In the area of Real Estate Law, Maunga Maanda and Associates attends to all types of
conveyancing work. In addition, it offers its legal services to Building Societies, Banking
and Finance Houses, lenders, landlords, tenants, land developers, corporations,
governmental agencies, pension funds, trusts, investors, purchasers, sellers, brokers,
homeowner’s associations, non-profit community development corporations and
construction contractors in a wide variety of real estate transactional and litigation matters.
The firm has transactional experience in property sales and acquisitions, financingdevelopment, construction, leasing, management, zoning, land use and related matters.
Litigation cases handled by the firm include real estate contract disputes and foreclosures.
We have a conveyancing department which is manned by well experienced staff. We also
assist sellers in obtaining Capital Gains Tax Certificate as we have established a good
rapport with the taxman. For Sellers who do not have ready cash to pay the Capital Gains
Tax and would want to pay from the purchase price we assist by issuing guarantee letters as
we are registered with ZIMRA as a depository.
Our Turnaround when all documents are in place is 2 – 3 days and can be expedited
depending on the urgency of the transaction.
Debt Collection Practice
The firm collects commercial debts on behalf of clients. This is one of its key strength
areas. Among its clients are banks which include NMB Bank, Agribank, ZB Bank & Stanbic
Bank for which it does a lot of debt collection. The firm’s turn around period is very short
and its recovery rate is high. The size and location in Harare and Mutare of the firm also
assist in its efficiency and expanding its reach.
Civil litigation Practice
The experience of Maunga Maanda and Associates in the area of litigation allows it to
efficiently and effectively handle disputes from the period before a law suit is filed until
final disposition on appeal. The firm’s litigation practice covers the full range of civil legal
problems common to banking and other commercial sectors including debtors and
creditors’ rights, insurance, trade mark infringements, commercial and governmentcontracts. The firm also has expertise in prosecution and defence of personal injury claims,
insurance claims, and civil rights law including class actions.
